She holds a Magisterexamen (Master) graduated in peace and conflict studies, International relations, from the Uppsala Programme for International Studies, Department of Peace and Conflict Studies of Uppsala Universiteit, Sweden in August 2005.
Working as researcher in the Centre for Political Studies, Indonesian Institute of Sciences since 1997, she has conducted researches on industrial conflict; natural resources based conflict; and natural resources management in Central Kalimantan as well as in Aceh. In 2006 to 2008 she wrote three chapters in different books on Aceh, namely on post disaster reconstruction; village governance and women’s political representation in Aceh politics. In February-March 2008, she conducted a research “Context Analyses in Eastern Aceh Using Do No Harm Approach), in North and East Aceh. Recently between November to December 2008 she supervised a joint survey of the Center for Political Studies, LIPI and CRISE, Oxford University on “Horizontal Inequality” in Bireuen District, Aceh province.
